the Stig has been around the world wringing the necks off a wide variety of machinery, but this time he’s arrived in Warsaw, Poland, of all places – and stands 30 feet tall.
reported a few days ago, the BBC crafted the 30-foot Stig statue out of fiberglass at the
Top Gear studio at Dunsfold Aerodrome in the UK. There they put it on a flat-bed
truck to send to the Polish capital to mark the launch of the network’s new channel, BBC Brit.
Now it’s arrived and is being showcased outside the Palace of Culture and Science, a Warsaw landmark built by the Soviets that’s the tallest building in Poland and one of the tallest in Europe. Next to the 778-foot-tall tower, the Stig may look tiny, but he’s still a good five times bigger than the real thing.
Now if they could just make a 5:1-scale
Caterham Seven or
Porsche GT3 for him to hoon around like Paul Bunyan on a giant race track, we’d be all set.
