Mitsubishi Oz reveals the TMR 380 concept

High performance sedans seem to be all the rage down in Australia, with all four of the country’s resident car manufacturers releasing kitted up family haulers with a little extra go. Most of the limelight went to Toyota and its Aurion Sports Concept plus Ford with its Force Falcon range. Holden called on its HSV tuning arm to spice up its Grange sedan, which leaves Mitsubishi and its 380 sedan.

The Australian 380 is almost identical to US delivered Gallants but with subtle changes to the exterior and suspension settings. However, displayed at the Australian International Motor Show was a tuned version enhanced by motor sport division Ralliart, which the company was suggesting could make it to production.

Labelled the TMR 380, the concept car featured a supercharged 3.8L V6 developing 220kW plus stiffer suspension and a full bodykit. The aero package includes a new grille, side skirts and a bonnet scoop. Thanks to the Sprintex supercharger, power is up 31% with torque up 29%. The manufacturer claims it will complete the quarter mile in 14 seconds, while it accelerates from 0-100km/h in 6s.
