Teen Uploads Video Of Joy Ride To YouTube

'Driving Like An Idiot' Video Leads To Teen's Arrest

Police in Florida are grateful to the reckless teen who saved them a lot of investigative work by uploading a video of his wild crime spree to YouTube last week, with the title ‘Me Driving Like an Idiot’.

Robert Kelley caused two accidents involving four cars before he was seriously injured and was airlifted to a local hospital, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported. From his hospital bed, he uploaded a video he took as he weaved his 1994 Honda in and out of traffic, ran a red light and exceeded the speed limit to a booming techno beat before he slammed into the back of a Toyota. Investigators told the News-Journal the video ends as Kelley leaves the scene of the first accident and continues on to crash into three more cars stopped at a red light a few minutes later.

The video has since been removed from YouTube.

Police arrested Kelley Friday, WESH reported, though they initially delayed taking the teen into custody due to the severity of his injuries. He faces two counts of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, which is a felony, as well as reckless driving and driving without a license, as Kelley has never been issued a driver’s license.
